I'm so excited to share some images I captured during a styled session hosted by @sdphoto.co and held at the gorgeous Studio Casually in downtown San Diego. First, you may be wondering what is a styled session? A styled session is a staged photoshoot - often with a theme - that is organized and put on by a photographer, group of photographers or company. It's set up so that a dozen or so photographers can attend and all participate.
Now, why do photographers attend styled sessions? So many reasons! Personally, I do them to continue to learn new techniques, learn to work under pressure (taking turns means you only have a very short time to get the images you want), meet and work alongside other talented photographers and have fun getting creative while photographing the most beautiful setups. I mean, how darling is this setup? When I heard there was a painting theme, it was an immediate yes for me. And I absolutely love the images I was able to capture. Finally, I love sharing the results of styled sessions because it can help inspire clients to see what's possible.
