We've got a van


First, I am realizing just how behind on blogging I am. This couple now has an almost one year old - AHH! But I had to come back and blog this mid way maternity session. I am calling this a mid way maternity session because mama was only 20 weeks along. For reference, most maternity session happen between 29-35 weeks. But I had this dream to do a vintage van session and this couple was also expecting their first child. We connected early in the pregnancy but decided to wait until at least mid way so that you could more obviously tell mama was pregnant.


A funny backstory on the actual session though... we had planned to meet at another beach where we knew that we could park by the van by beachfront. Of course when we got there, the parking lot was closed for renovation. And we were losing daylight by the second. The couple knew of another beach 15 minutes away that might work so we hauled it over there and ended up getting the perfect parking spot in front of some wildflowers. We were maybe a touch rushed but ended up still getting more amazing images than one knows what to do with. This is a good time to mention that most sessions have something to doesn't go according to plan, whether it's an issue with the location, kids not being into it, a wardrobe malfunction, etc. But that's par for the course and the best thing we can do is just go with it. In the end, it almost always works out just fine if not better than we could have imagined!
